System Requirements

These are the minimum requirements to import After Effects Scenes into Viz Artist:

  • Viz Artist 3.7.0 or higher

  • Graphic Hub 2.4.0 or higher

  • Adobe After Effects CS6 (or higher with Viz 3.7.1)

  • Matrox X.mio2, X.mio2 Plus or X.open (for clip playback)

When Viz Artist/Engine is installed the file AEExport.aex is copied to the folder with highest Adobe After Effects version number. If no Adobe After Effects version (CS6, CC) is installed, then the AEExport.aex file is not copied.

If After Effects is installed after Viz Artist/Engine, then starting the Viz Artist/Engine installer with the Repair option will install the file.

To Use After Effects Import with 32-Bit Viz Engine

It is recommended to use Adobe After Effects (AE) import with the 64-bit version of Viz Engine, but if required AE Import can be used with 32-bit Viz Engine by following these steps:

  1. Even if usage is on a 32-bit Viz Engine the 64-bit Viz Engine must be installed. The 64-bit installer will copy the required plugin AEExport.aex to the AE install directory: <viz install folder> \import\AE

  2. Copy the AE plugin directory from 64-bits Viz from step (1) above to the 32-bits Viz Engine location: %ProgramFiIes(x86)%\vizrt\Viz3\import - this will normally be: C:\Program Files (x86)\vizrt\Viz3\import

  3. Restart the Viz Engine
