Viz Channel Branding 5.4.0

These are the release notes for Viz Channel Branding version 5.4.0. This document describes the user-visible changes that have been made to the software since release 5.3.1.
New Features
Housekeeper can now sync creation of playlists and any playlist content.
Housekeeper can clean out campaign-related pages for automatic clean-out from MCR channels by setting the TTL field in the Page pool.
Housekeeper and client UI now support Approval Workflow for pages, most commonly used in push of pages from Planning department to MCR department.
Improvements
Page Editor now has support for a dynamic representation of Control Container.
Database connection dialog now has the ability to select the driver to use, based on which ODBC drivers are installed.
Harris (Imagine) Integration Module now compatible with 2.0 of the Service interface.
Housekeeper Configuration section now has improved messages to explain errors found and how to solve them.
A clip added from Clip Bank with metadata extracted from Viz One now has the metadata also added into the Playlist element.
Changed Features
Filter menu and dialog administrator options improved, the edit and delete options is also removed from built-in filters.
Channel selector no longer allows selection of channels that mismatch in version, instead informs the user that a upgrade of the channel is needed first.
Fixed Issues
No longer possible to sidestep the Save button being disabled when naming a page that could allow for a badly named page being created.
When trying to edit a page with an illegal name, the user is now asked to save it under a new name.
Client application will not try to recalculate the start-time of Dayswitch-control elements when in External Triggering playout mode.
Quick Take panel functionality reimplemented, after being disabled in the transition to the new client UI in the previous versions.
Note about Installer Naming
All installers have had a slight adjustment to their naming, the Bundle installer is now changed from ChannelBrandingBundleInstaller-x64-5.x.y.z.exe to VizChannelBrandingBundle-x64-5.x.y.z.exe and individual installers are changed from a pattern of VizChannelBranding_CC-x64-5.x.y.z.exe to VizChannelBrandingCC-x64-5.x.y.z.exe where CC is the component name.

While Windows 10 is the recommended operating system for this release, the solution has been tested to work equally well with Windows 11.
Note: Codecs are required to preview proxy videos from Viz One. For installation, see the Viz One Integration section in the Viz Channel Branding User Guide.
Installation and Upgrade
An Upgrade Tool is included in every new version of Viz Channel Branding.
IMPORTANT! The Upgrade Tool that ships with Viz Channel Branding must be used to upgrade/update any Viz Channel Branding channel data to the latest version.
To upgrade Viz Channel Branding channel data for each version, follow the instructions below.
All Versions of Viz Channel Branding
The Viz Channel Branding Upgrade Tool is located at C:\Program Files\Vizrt\Viz Channel Branding\Upgrade Tool\.
This utility must be used to perform any upgrade/update of the channel data.
To upgrade Viz Channel Branding
Navigate to C:\Program Files\Vizrt\Viz Channel Branding\Upgrade Tool\.
Double-click the program to open it.
Fill out Media Sequencer IP address or hostname.
Click Connect. A list of existing channels is displayed. Channels in the list that can be upgraded are shown with an Upgrade button.
To begin, click Upgrade.
Upgrade Status becomes Fully Upgraded when the upgrading process is completed.
Migration
To migrate from Viz Multichannel to Viz Channel Branding 5.x+
Uninstall previous version.
Install Viz Channel Branding 5.x+ component 'Upgrade Tool'.
Run 'Upgrade Tool' and 'Migrate' and then 'Upgrade' appropriate channels. This is a two-step process, first the data migration, then a final data-upgrade pass.
