Viz Vectar Plus 1.2.1

These are the release notes for Viz Vectar Plus version 1.2.1. This document contains a list of references to fixed issues regarding the user-visible changes that have been made to the software since release 1.2.0.

Note: All versions of the Viz Vectar Plus, including 1.2.0 display an Administration menu with an Update button. Under no circumstances shall this feature be used. Due to a known issue, this link will update Viz Vectar Plus with an incompatible software version and corrupt user settings.

To update Viz Vectar Plus, download the latest installer from the Vizrt FTP server and this installer will perform the update.

Improvements

  • Emem preset numbering will remain the same regardless of what position the emem was originally exported from.

  • Added literal string fallback values to Datalink keys.

  • Added better error messages when exporting to FTP servers.

  • Added 9:16 Safe Area Overlay option in the isomonitors.

  • Made SRT input streams more robust when audio and video streams are not in sync.

User Interface

  • Removed the Periscope streaming preset as the service was discontinued.

Known Issues

  • Update button installs wrong software version and corrupts user settings.

  • Caller audio distortion (clicks) heard from certain live call connect applications (Discord, WhatsApp, Facetime and Zoom).

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where NDI loopbacks could sometimes stutter or freeze.

  • Fixed an issue where the Audio Mixer was not configured correctly when creating new sessions.

  • Fixed an issue where volume sliders would sometimes disappear when loading an imported and converted preset.

  • Fixed an issue where loading a 16-channel emem file into a session that supports 44 channels would remove VU meters in the Audio Mixer.

  • Supplemental Output Device settings will remain constant regardless of emem changes.

  • Fixed an issue where streaming from all 3 encoders could cause the system to lock up.

  • Fixed an issue with the Vimeo streaming plugin where characters after an ampersand would be ignored.

  • Fixed an issue with double-tapping the DDR bin when in touch mode.

  • Fixed an issue with decoding 10-bit HEVC video streams.

  • Fixed an issue where LCC Teams' calls could sometimes have a slightly audible hiss.

  • Fixed an issue where sources from the Output Matrix were sending the wrong frame rate.

  • Fixed an issue where the Contour Shuttle Xpress controller would lose connection if the controller was plugged in before a script was loaded into the Teleprompter.

  • Fixed an issue where a stray VU meter would load below the main row of VU meters in LivePanel.

  • Fixed an issue where exporting an interlaced ProRes clip would result in a progressive clip.

  • Fixed an issue where using non-English characters in session names would cause LCC options to disappear from input source selection.

  • Fixed an issue where File Explorer was opened when overlay VU options are selected above the Automation window.

  • Fixed an issue where an exception was thrown if a custom image was used as a LivePanel button background, then moved or deleted.

  • Fixed an issue where an exception was thrown if certain fonts were used in a buffer title.

These are the revised release notes for Viz Vectar Plus version 1.2.0. This document contains a list of references to fixed issues regarding the user-visible changes that have been made to the software since release 1.1.1. This document was revised on 2022-04-28.

Improvements

LivePanel

  • Implemented changes to further improve stability of audio in recordings made in non-optimal network environments.

  • Reconfigured the behavior of two-state buttons in the IsoMonitor's LivePanel presets to be more intuitive.

  • Added LivePanel Builder buttons as an option to individual IsoPreview tiles.

  • Animation stores in DDR's now display correctly in LivePanel.

  • Updated some of the URL's in the Resources section of LivePanel.

Input / Output Configuration

  • Added an option in the Input menu to configure Remote Sources.

  • Video Resolution and Framerate will now show in the Input window title after the input has been on Program at least once.

  • Input Configuration window will be cut off after opening.

  • Implemented a Live Call Connect A/V return configuration in the Output Configuration menu.

Live Call Connect

  • Improvements to Live Call Connect that improve the caller detection in apps that have recently been updated.

  • Clicking Live in Live Call Connect will now automatically resize the window to occupy the maximum amount of space available.

  • Zoom calls should no longer show the yellow 'active speaker' border around video inputs using Live Call Connect.

  • Replay: Add Clip from recorder 5-8 have been added to the System Commands macro list.

Export

  • Changed the name of the Export preset SMTP to Email.

  • Added a shortcut option to enable/disable the Export option as well as added a shortcut that toggles the state of the preset.

NDI KVM

  • NDI KVM will no longer always be set to 59.94, it will now follow the monitors refresh rate.

  • NDI KVM now supports monitor refresh rates up to 240Hz.

Audio Mixer

  • Improved the responsiveness of the Audio Mixer when sending multiple mute commands using a macro.

  • Improvements in configuration of Audio Mixer.

  • ASIO audio is now enabled by default.

Macros

  • Resizing the Macro Edit window will no longer cause the window to close.

  • Improved error handling in the Macro Engine.

  • Replay: Add Clip from recorder 5-8 have been added to the System Commands macro list.

Other

  • Added a Configure button to the Grab menu.

  • Added option to set default length of stills.

  • The software will no longer rearrange your monitor configuration.

  • When attempting to configure a remote source without NDI 5 Tools installed, you will now be prompted to install NDI 5 Tools.

Known Issues

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where recordings would stop after 30 minutes.

  • Fixed an issue in the Macro Editor where setting a Boolean value when a shortcut requires a numerical value can cause the switcher to crash.

  • Fixed an issue when using a macro to mute multiple audio channels simultaneously would allow some channels to still be routed to Master.

  • Fixed an issue where on some units, a 4K30p session would not show all the output options available.

  • Improved CPU usage and general system performance.

  • Fixed an issue where button label names were not getting updated in the switcher dictionary until the session was restarted.

  • Fixed an issue where imported PSD files would have an incorrect offset for text.

  • Fixed an issue where PSD files with numbers encased in parentheses would not import correctly.

  • Fixed an issue where transcoding certain resolution clips would result in the wrong aspect ratio being used.

  • Fixed an issue where LCC App Return would output black the first time you went into a session.

  • Fixed an issue where sometimes opening the Media Browser could lock up the UI.

  • Fixed an issue where comps were not properly importing into sessions when importing emems.

  • Fixed an issue where LCC could display 4 camera/microphone options instead of just 1.

  • Corrected an issue where files recorded for over 13 hours would show an incorrect length.

  • Fixed an issue with Zoom audio from LCC becoming garbled over time.

  • Fixed an issue where a Network Share notification would appear every time a file browser window was opened.

  • Fixed an issue where recalling a preset higher than 15 using Macros could cause the Take and Auto buttons to lock up.

  • Fixed a bug where the shortcut toggle publishing was not working correctly.

  • Fixed an issue where clips could be inaccessible if they were transcoded in a session and that session was deleted.

  • Fixed an issue where audio delay settings would be lost when reentering a session.

  • Clips would sometimes register as stills in the export bin.

Installation and Update

  • Installation: Refer to the Viz Vectar Plus User Guide, section Setup.

  • Update: Download the installer from the Vizrt FTP server. The installer performs the update.

    Note: Do not use the Update button in the Viz Vectar Plus Administration menu. See Known Issues.
